
Michele Jacot is a musician with an active schedule of solo appearances, gigs, and concert production. Besides being in demand for her skills as a clarinetist, she is equally at home as a saxophonist and flutist, and is often featured as a soloist or ensemble performer on all of her instruments.
Michele is the creator, artistic director, producer, and featured performer in her unique show, Commingle. This eclectic and social evening of music and art raises funds for local charities, and showcases some of Toronto’s finest musicians and local visual artists, who generously donate their time and talent.
As a popular freelance musician, Ms. Jacot has amassed an impressive array of performing credits. In the classical world, she has performed in the woodwind sections of most of the major orchestras in Ontario, and in many opera productions.
Experienced in theater pit orchestras, Michele’s credits include, Chicago: The Musical, The Producers, and Sunday in the Park with George, to name of few of her favourites. Recently, she played the Mirvish production of The Sound of Music in Toronto. No stranger to television, Michele is seen regularly on CBC Television in the children’s programme, Razzberry Jazzberry Jam.
Ms. Jacot is also a dedicated teacher and is in demand from the elementary to the post-secondary level. As well as running a productive private studio, she regularly gives workshops to music students, and designs and leads clinics for band teachers, which she presents across Canada.
Michele Jacot was born and raised in Toronto and received her Master of Music in Clarinet Performance at Northwestern University in Chicago. Previously, she received her Bachelor of Music in Performance at the University of Toronto.
Michele is a founding member of the DMSQ saxophone quartet, and conducts the Wychwood Clarinet Choir.
Michele is also proud to be a Yamaha Canada Spotlight Artist.
