Welcome
This is the official site of Michele Jacot (that's me at the top of the page), and I'm a Toronto-based musician and teacher. Thanks for stopping by — there's always something new to see here, so take a look around and be sure to keep in touch.
Save the Date
Everyone enjoyed themselves so much at last year's Commingle event, we're going to have another (and this time it'll definitely be under 3 hours, promise!). I'm still busy working out the details, but please mark your calendars for Thursday, June 26 at Hugh's Room and come out to support a great cause again.
On the road again
Hi everyone, I'm thrilled to be off on another couple of trips to play with two great ensembles. I'm playing with The Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra right now, and then I'm joining the Carousel Players tour of George and Martha, which will perform at the Pittsburgh International Children's Theatre Festival. Catch them if you're in the area. I'm also in the midst of preparations for a second Commingle, with some exciting new additions to the lineup. The details are still under wraps, though, so remember to check back here for updates throughout the spring.
New photos and music
So many people have asked for photos and recordings from the Commingle concert last June. Good things come to those who wait, and you've been extra-patient.
The Photos page now contains a gallery of photos from the performance, as well as some shots of the fabulous audience who came to support the show.
The other exciting thing is this excerpt from a recording of the Dimanche Matin Sax Quartet playing "When I'm 64". You can listen to it right here by clicking on the player above. (With special thanks to recording engineer Art Mullin.) Thanks again, sorry for the wait, and happy holidays, everyone!
Thank You, Comminglers!
A big thanks to everyone who came to the Gladstone on Wednesday, June 27, to be part of Commingle. The show sold out (and then some!), which means your contributions will really make a difference to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, which will receive the proceeds from the evening. Another round of applause, too, for the 17 performers and artists who donated their talent and their enthusiasm to the show. Last but not least, thanks to our fabulous sponsors, Claviers Baroques, Long & McQuade, and QuickShift Racing, who made the whole thing possible.
Check back here soon for photos and videos from the evening, and to hear about future performances. To make sure you don't miss a beat, sign up for the mailing list so you'll always be in the loop.
